This month, we hear from Amy Stegall. Amy is the Missions and Outreach Coordinator for Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston, LA.
Read along as Amy shares her passions and the mission guiding their work.
What brought you to this work?
Amy: I have worked in ministry for 7 years. Children's ministry brought me to the church, then I spent time working in congregational care. I found that I had a real pull towards outreach. Working with many people from every age, race, socioeconomic group, and gender became something I really enjoy. After much prayer and consideration, I took the job as the Coordinator of Mission and Outreach in January 2018. It has been a joy to walk alongside people as they grow deeper in their faith by serving others.
Who do you serve?
Amy: We primarily serve with other churches and agencies to meet the needs of those in our community and beyond, while sharing Jesus with those we serve. We serve anyone in need. If we can't help in some way, we help connect people to some one who can.
What is your hope?
Amy: It is my hope that by reaching wide in our serving we will be able to share the love of Christ in ways that transform hearts that did not know Him. I also hope that we are able to serve as examples of Christ as we go out to those in need.
What is the one thing you want the public to know about your work?
Amy: I think it is important to know we are willing to help anyone who is in need of the loving grace that knowing Christ offers each of us.
